five on friday

five on friday
Happy Friday. :) I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm sure you are, too. We have plans with my parents, brothers, and sisters on Saturday afternoon. I'll be making chocoflan. Jesse and I are going to a concert tomorrow night, which was my Valentine's Day present to him. Sunday afternoon our friends are watching our girls and we may go to brunch AGAIN. It's becoming our thing. We might go thrift store shopping- I'm looking for basket planters; tray baskets (for scrapbook organization); cute, diner mugs; stationery / office supplies; cool purses; vintage or new board games; children book collections- to name a few. Jesse likes browsing through electronics and CDs.

Anyway! I have 5+ links to share with you. :)

1. Scientists Reveal 15 Little Habits That Can Lead To A Happier Life by Amy Johnson
I have been doing #1 "Write down 3 things that you are thankful for," #5 "Meditate," #15 "Drink coffee" (all in the morning) and #9 "Set goals" every month, I read this helpful post this week, as well: Hate Waking Up Early? These 17 Morning Hacks Are Lifesavers by Macy Williams.

2. 5 Ways to Cope with Burnout by Margarita Tartakovsky
I'm a huge fan of Margarita Tartakovsky's posts- her articles are practical. I needed to read this this week: "'You can try to push through it in the short term, but eventually you will have to slow down, rest and refill your tank.' This is a good thing. This is how we respect our bodies and ourselves. This is how we can give to others and give generously."

3. Amazing Benefits Of Greek Yogurt (+5 Refreshing Recipes) by Elise Moreau
I'll be sharing a Greek yogurt recipe next week for my Greek yogurt 52 ways project.

4. 3 Messy Buns by Melissa Cook
I came across the site Missy Sue not too long ago. I really like her hair tutorials. I also want to try Kate Bryan's Flirty Curls soon (so cute).

5. Save Some Face: W&D’s Six Winter Skin Care Tips by Kate Arends
My skin has been so dry this winter. I've been using Pond's' dry skin cream, which really helps my face, and Mary Kay's emollient over night for my hands (it's amazingly soothing on my very dry knuckles!).

Hope you have a great one!

  1. Thanks for sharing these links. I will read the one about being burn-outed especially because I am one of them who almost worked myself to death. Now living a slow life and slowly recovering. :) With a new quality of life.

I wish you a great weekend!
( Must check the chocoflan too... sounds yummie.)

    1. The post about coping with burnout was excellent. I have been listening to my body's signals this week and respecting when I'm tired. I've even taken a nap a few times, which isn't like me. I hope that you increase the quality of your days, as well! :)

Chocoflan is delicious!! I hope you are able to try it one day.
