currently in february // things i'm working on

I'm working on writing down 3 accomplishments / things I'm grateful for every day (usually in the morning) in my Get to Work Book. I loved this idea from @michelezh shared on the Get to Work Book Instagram feed.

I'm working on reaching at least 10,000 steps every day. It's all about figuring out how to reach more steps in an enjoyable way. Sometimes I read while walking. Sometimes I watch a movie I like while walking around my living room. This morning I went mall walking again with my friend Denise (and tried this smoked butterscotch latte- yum!)

I'm working on reading for an average of 15 min. a day. (As you may know, I started this goal in 2015. I am doing it again this year). I started Pretty Girls as I mentioned the other day. It is suspenseful and I am on the edge of my seat!

I'm working on a blog post that's taking more time and research than normal for my posts. (That's why I haven't been posting much). I took a break to compile this post. ;)

I'm working on letting my house be messy (I think I say this every time). I recently received the good advice that relationships with our children and spouses are more important than a clean home and to accept the mess for what is is- a house full of happy, growing children.

I'm working on going to the library with my girls to do homework. I find that they focus better and the change of scenery is gratifying for all of us. (I put this blog post together at the library. :)

I'm working on not scrolling mindlessly through social media. If I am do scroll through social media, I try to do it while walking.

I'm working on sticking to my evening routine. I pared down my list. I think I was adding too much all at once. I remembered this advice from Leo Babauta: "Keep your routine as your foremost goal for one month, focusing on nothing else. Having too many habits at once spreads your focus too thin, and makes success less likely."

I'm working on crossing things off of my winter manifesto. We lit candles and enjoyed sparkling cider together after dinner on Valentine's Day. It was so sweet.

I'm working on building a craft cart from scratch... well Jesse is building the craft cart from scratch; I am supervising. Remember that time he built raised, garden beds and I didn't even know he could do that sort of thing?? (Speaking of which, we'll be planting things in our garden soon!)
