june, july, august 2015 layouts :: pocket memory keeping / project life

A very, very happy birthday to my Lani today. She's 12! :)

Just when you think I'm done talking about our summer break, *bam* I'm back talking about the same ole thing. ;)

I've mentioned this plenty of times, but I make 2 smaller 8 1/2x11" books for the year- one for our summer break months and another for our December Daily. I have a larger 12x12" book for the rest of the year. I'm back to working in my 12x12" book now that I've completed our summer book. (See part 1 of our summer book here and part 2 of it here). Rather than jumping right back into my 12x12" book and skipping over weeks worth of layouts, I recap June, July, and August with a couple of my favorite pictures and a little bit of journaling pointing to my summer book for more pictures and details.

There were so many pictures to choose from, but ultimately I chose 2 family pictures- one from our 4th of July celebration and one from our beach trip, 2 pictures of my girls reading (I love these), 2 of the sky, 1 of my girls geocaching, and one of Lani and Juli. I added simple embellishments- 2 badges from A Flair for Buttons and a "this is what summer looks like" stamped sentiment from this summer stamp set. I used some of the paper I used throughout my summer book- Heidi Grace's Cheerful Bee collection (discontinued) and a Project Life grid card for journaling. I also used black and white weekly cards from I'm A Paper Nerd and Harley Quinn and Co.'s 2015 calendar.

I also included another layout with my goals for June, July, and August. I also shared 6 weeks worth of Greek yogurt 52 ways recipes from the summer.

I journaled a bit on this layout and called it good. August isn't complete though. I'm caught up through mid August when my girls started school.

It's time to hustle and catch up. ;)
