We made a photo backdrop using sparkly, blue mesh. Jesse made and hung jellyfish. [Evie and Jesse recently made a Pacific sea nettles (jellyfish) diorama for the science fair, so we're aquarium/jellyfish obsessed right now.]
We wanted Evie to be able to take pictures with her friends, so we set up the backdrop and added a few fun props like red, mermaid hair and snorkels. I asked my brother in law Oscar to make bubble chalkboard signs. I sent him the link to this tutorial. They turned out so well!

I hung up a chalkboard with speech bubble ideas:

I had the idea of having stations/centers set up for Evie and her friends, and hoped to have them somewhat aquarium themed.
I asked my sister Jennifer if she would be willing to face paint. She painted clown fish, angel fish, jellyfish, turtles, and shark fish.

I asked sister in law Sarah if she would give the girls manicures. There was plenty of sparkly gems, blue water, and green seaweed involved.

I asked my sister Jasmine if she would make beaded bracelets with them:

I asked my soon be sister in law Jenna of she would oversee making vial charms. The girls added glitter and pearls to tiny vials and attached them to their beaded bracelets.

Jenna also helped the girls with their bracelet tattoos.
For food, we had a spread of fruit and vegetables... what I really want you to see is that cute crab Jesse made:

We also set up a pizza bar:

The kids (and adults) made their pizzas and chose their toppings.

We included salad on the side.
For dessert, we set up a banana split bar. (We love ice cream bars around here- see this post).

The birthday girl's looked good!

Finally, Jasmine made these super cute fish cupcakes:

(Jasmine took some of the pictures for this post- thank you!)
It was a cute party. I hope Evie and her friends enjoyed themselves. :)
