april recap

Every month at the end of the month, I recap my monthly activities and goals and link to various personal blog posts. See this year's monthly recap here. See 2014's monthly recaps here.

(Printable calendar from Jillian McClenahan) (thank you!)

April was a good month for me. How about for you??

This month I finally completed my 2014 book! (To whom it may concern, I'm still waiting for that certification of completion. C'mon!)

I blogged all about it here.

This month we celebrated Evie turning 9 (!!!) with an aquarium themed party:

It was super fun. See it here.

This month I started working on my 2015 book. I'm excited about using Erin's calendar. I shared pictures of it yesterday for Workspace Wednesday:

As you know by now, I am a big believer in making time to craft. I invited my sister Jasmine to blog about that topic:

See her guest post here.

This month I established an evening routine. See that here.
spring cleaning, getting organized, and establishing routines
I also shared a few helpful articles on establishing evening routines here.

This month I added 5 Greek yogurt desserts (or breakfasts) to my Greek yogurt 52 ways project:

#9 cookie dough oreo
#10 upside down lemon cream pie
(I used a recipe on the back of the Fiber One lemon bar box. I was excited to have Fiber One share my post on their Facebook page and their Instagram feed).
#11 tiramisu
#12 creamy grape dessert

You have to try #8 creamy, Nutella dip!
greek yogurt 52 ways: no. 8 creamy, nutella dip

This month I shared a tutorial for an envelope book.  See here. I made kits to make the same book for the Handmade U attendees. I also listed a few in my etsy shop if you're interested:

As for my April goals, this is how I did:
april goals
  • Start and complete a 30-day cleaning challenge (this one)
I didn't really like this challenge. It wasn't as well-written as this one, so I lost steam with it. I completed about 90% of it. I only had our bedroom left to do. I can't blame the challenge for my bedroom being the most neglected room in my house.
  • Not only track my meals and snacks regularly (I did this successfully in March), but stay within my points (calorie count) for weight loss
Eeeek. I was partially successful with this. I did track every day, but I had an over indulgent week for one week this month. (I did, however, lose weight this month. Hooray).
  • Establish an evening routine
Yup! Next month I'm making a goal to stick to it.
  • Complete my 2014 memory book
So proud. :)
  • Prepare our garden // plant fruits and vegetables
We're in the middle of preparing our garden now. I mentioned that Jesse made 2 raised, garden beds here. This week he lined the beds with an underlay (landscape fabric). We are going to buy soil this weekend and finally plant our salsa bed in one and other vegetables (corn, squash, etc.) in the other. Yay!
I'll be back tomorrow for Five on Friday. I'll be sharing my goals for May on Monday. :) Thanks for stopping by!
