january recap

In the last post, I shared that we had family visiting from Texas. I took over a week off from blogging because we were busy spending time with my mother-in-law and father-in-law. My family and I enjoyed our time with them very much.

January is one of my favorite months of the year because it's a good time to start new projects, set resolutions, and evaluate goals. In January, I discussed my approach to goal-setting in 4 parts. In part 1 I discussed overarching goals/projects/resolutions. In part 2 I discussed getting specific by setting monthly goals. In part 3 I discussed getting even more specific by setting weekly and daily goals. In part 4 I discussed rewarding yourself.

Taking my own advice, I made several goals for this year and made January goals with my yearly goals in mind. This is how I did in January:

  • Eat healthy desserts
I started a new project this month: Greek yogurt 52 ways to help me eat healthy desserts this year. I made strawberry shortcake:

I started my "Greek yogurt 52 ways" project after having completed my 52 sandwiches project.

I shared my girls' daily routine list and chore chart here.
  • Read at least 15 minutes every day
I wasn't perfect at this, but I read Divergent (love!) and am in the middle of Insurgent. (I have major heart eyes for Four). Reading daily is a long-term/yearly goal for me this year. I'm using Elise's daily tracker to track my reading.
  • Document some of our family's favorite recipes
I am in the middle of putting a book together. I'm looking forward to sharing it here soon.
  • Do interval training a few times (I'm looking at you, Jillian)
I did- not as much as I would've liked, but it was something.

In January I also completed my summer 2014 book.

I'm seriously behind with my memory keeping though. :/
workspace wednesday
I'm all over the place with my projects. I have to compete my December Daily book first (because I'm almost done with it) and then August - November in my regular book for the year.

Oh, and I plan to continue with my memory keeping in 2015. When? I don't know. Soon hopefully. ;)

I discussed my plans here. I'm not beating myself up too much about being behind. It's supposed to be a fun hobby, after all! There's no room for guilt here.
