december daily 2014: week #1
I love December Daily. I used to say I didn't like Christmas crafting (whattt-?), but actually? I do.
I worked on my book this passed weekend. I like Elsie's new blog feature: Scrapbook Sundays, and it's been motivating me to scrapbook on Sunday. Yesterday she shared the beginning of her December Daily book. I like the idea of stamping on the cover and the inside cover (her week in the life inside cover is super cute). Pam Garrison also stamped on her inside cover. Maybe I will, too. . . we'll see.
Anyway, in case you missed my first December Daily post, I'm using an 8 1/2x11" binder in lime green with gold polka dots from Target (I was able to find one, after all) and these 8 1/2x11" page protectors with 4- 5 1/2x4" pockets (they're more like 5 1/2x3 7/8" if you're particular about these things like I am.
This is my December Daily title page:
I used red, patterned paper from a retired Close to my Heart Christmas kit and gold thickers for the "December Daily 2014" title. I used a Christmas tree stamp from Michael's $1 bins a few years ago. In the journaling spot, I used a Martha Stewart red, office label and an October Afternoon scalloped label (love that one). "Merry, merry, merry" was stamped from another $1 bin stamp. The heart badge is from the etsy shop A Flair for Buttons. The doodled heart stamp is from a retired Ali Edwards' set.
These are days 1, 2, 3, and 4:
My girls were excited when I pulled out our advent calender. I had to document that. Day 2 I didn't take a picture, but I included pictures from the tree lighting ceremony later in the week. Why not? ;)
This week I used several scraps of color coordinating paper, which I don't know the sources for. I will list those I know though. The red patterned paper with white polka dots is from Papertrey Ink. The labels are from Martha Stewart and October Afternoon. The days of the week stamps are from the same Ali Edwards' set (the one with the heart). The resin star embellishments are from Freckled Fawn.
On the other side, I included a sleeve from Starbucks. My friend Denise invited me to have coffee for my birthday coming up.
The supplies include those I've already listed- the Woodland paper, October Afternoon labels, A Flair for Buttons coffee badge, Papertrey Ink, Freckled Fawn. I also cut a Project Life core card from the Midnight Edition for the journaling spot. The tree stamp is from Michael's $1 bins a few years ago.
This is the layout for days 5 and 6 (I also started the 7th):
As far as supplies- the red paper is from that Woodland paper, not sure about the green, ruled paper (I'm thinking it might have came in a stack from K&Co.). The "love" badge is from- you guessed it- A Flair for Buttons, and that dotted circle stamp is a rubber stamp I altered from the $1 bins. Remember the tutorial?
I forgot to print the picture for day 6. Oops. I'll include it next time. Our advent activity included doughnuts and watching Elf. We enjoyed it. The paper, tag, and label are from Martha Stewart. I also used a Project Life core card from the Seafoam Edition for the journaling spot. I stamped on the tag using a $1 bin acrylic stamp (from a cute, tiny set).
Supplies and embellishments not listed above include black archival ink and holiday red ink from Close to My Heart, Fiskar's 12" cutter, slick writer marker, tacky adhesive circles, glue dots. If I forgot to mention something, feel free to ask, and I'll answer in the comments. I respond to most comments and questions within the comments section.
