The buffalo chicken strip appetizer at Denny's is my favorite. The chicken tenders drenched in spicy (almost too spicy) hot sauce are what it's about. I like buffalo chicken whatever is what it comes down to. You know what else I like? Cheese. When I'm shredding cheese for any given meal I stuff my face with it. It's irresistible. This sandwich combines my greatest food loves: buffalo chicken and cheese. Happy times.
I found the recipe for this sandwich at Foodie Crush. (Heidi's pictures of grilled cheese sandwiches left me feeling hungry).
For this sandwich, combine shredded chicken (I used a store-bought rotisserie chicken) and Frank's hot sauce. Layer the chicken on one slice of bread. Layer blue cheese crumbles and shredded, Monterey cheese next. Top with the other slice of bread. Finally, grill the sandwich with butter on each side until the bread is golden and the cheese is gloriously melted.
Serve immediately. Eat immediately. Enjoy immediately.
But really, this sandwich needs to be made immediately. ;)
