my weight loss toolbox: healthy foods can be indulgent, too

I had an aha moment when I went grocery shopping the other day. I was shopping for a few lunch items thinking I would pick up an indulgent dessert, as well. At first, I thought, "I'll buy a cake!" Then, reason set in, and I thought, "No. No, I'll buy something somewhat healthy- like sherbet or something." I walked into the produce section and saw a big bag of cherries. I thought, "Why do they have to be so expensive?" Then, I realized that for a little bit more money (than the sherbet- the cake would've been about the same price) I could indulge in cherries, and have them for dessert instead. So, I bought the cherries, and we had them for dessert. They were delicious.

I realized that food indulgences don't have to be junk food. There are plenty of healthy foods that I like and will not only be indulgent, but also good for me. Eureka!
