workspace wednesday: project life summer 2014
Last year I had considered adding 8.5x11" inserts to my regular, 12x12" project life album for my summer layouts. I began my layouts with those intentions. After having made several layouts I realized that the "inserts" were enough to make a smaller 8.5x11" album on their own without overwhelming my regular, 12x12" album. This year I've decided to make a regular 12x12" album for most of the year, an 8.5x11" album for the summer months, and an 8.5x11" for my December Daily. It may seem like too much, but for me it's actually more manageable.
I'm excited about this year's summer album. I typically like neutral colors for most of the year, but during the summer months I use plenty of bright, cheerful colors. It's a fun change.
My supplies are basic- not fancy or the latest scrapbook embellishments or supplies. In this post I mentioned that I need to remind myself that I'm not a professional scrapbooker. (It's easy to get caught up in all of the talent and feel like my layouts are "less than." I like my layouts and work with what I have though. Don't feel sorry for me. I have quite a bit. ha. Companies aren't sending me their latest products to advertise. This is a hobby I enjoy very much. I'm not trying to keep up with the latest trends or products. I try not to anyway. ;)
For my summer album, I am using:
*a regular 3 ring binder (yup- like the kind you find in the school supplies aisle)
*8.5x11" page protectors (this coupon saver starter pack, which includes the 9 pocket baseball card pocket page protectors I used last year and this 4x6 mixed format pocket page protectors).
*a variety of patterned paper and Project Life core kits- whatever works with my color scheme and I already have on hand (a list of the core kits I have been using is here)
*a variety of days of the week stamps (like these) (I have a weird thing for those)
*Pilot's razor point extra fine tip pens
*my go to supplies like my Fiskar's 12" cutter, tacky adhesive circles, favorite embellishments (gotta have flair badges!), etc.
I'm looking forward to documenting our summer.
