I really enjoyed the first week of my girls' summer break, and I hope they did, too. (I'm pretty sure they did. ;)
On day 1 (Monday): we made a summer calendar, which I blogged about on Monday. It was a labor of love, but it's something we'll use for years to come, so I think it was well worth the effort.

On day 2 (Tuesday): we went to the library. The summer reading program starts next week, and we'll be participating again this year.

On day 3 (Wednesday): we each made a summer manifesto. I had my girls write a list of things they'd like to do this summer. I'll be sure to add some to our summer calendar.

On day 4 (Thursday): we planted vegetable (and watermelon) seeds in mini cereal boxes to make starter plants. (I LOVE this project). I will be blogging more about this project next week. The idea came from Nikki.

On day 5 (Friday) we went out for ice cream. What kind of summer break would this be without frozen treats?

What a good idea - one fun activity with you each day! Lots of good memories for sure! Happy Summer!
ReplyDeleteThank you. :) Happy summer to you, too, Jane!
