I had seen these vellum photo candle holders on Pinterest, and loved them. The link was broken, so I'm not sure if there was a DIY for the ones I had seen, so I had to get creative with them myself. I finally got around to making them.
Here's my simple tutorial.
I gathered my supplies: candles, pictures printed on vellum in the correct size (this depends on how tall your candles are), a paper trimmer, and a spray adhesive.

I picked up these candles at the $1 store. They had this removable paper, which came off easily.

Afterwards, I trimmed my pictures down to size.

I flipped my pictures over, and stuck the ends down with a little tape (vellum tends to curl).

After spraying the adhesive, I stuck them on the candles. I didn't notice until later that my printer was running out of ink. They still turned out okay though:

Nothing could be easier!

I will definitely be making more of these.

Hi. Forgive me for being a little slow on the uptake :) So you put tape on the back of the photos, taped them to the votive and then sprayed the adhesive on the front of the photos? Or did you spray adhesive to the back of the photos over the tape? I'm trying to adhere a sun image to glass and I'm worried about how to keep the rays from curling. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Karla, I taped the vellum down to a scratch piece of paper only as I sprayed the adhesive on the back of the picture. Then I removed the tape and stuck it to the candle. The spray adhesive is very tacky. Hope that helps!
