five on friday

Happy Friday (I guess. ;) See here if you're confused. If you're not confused and you're wondering if I'll stop making this joke every Friday... it's hard to say).

Here's 5 random things:

1. Jesse asked me to be his girlfriend 15 years ago on Feb. 13th. I posted this picture on Instagram of us at his senior prom.  We have a teenage aged relationship. Like teenagers, we want to sleep all afternoon

2. My sister Jasmine sent me a link to Dr. Kelly Flanagan brilliantly destroying society's definition of beauty for his daughter. I subscribed to his blog.

3. I helped Lani choose an inspirational historical figure this week to research for school. (She chose Helen Keller). I came across this quote by Elie Wiesel while researching: "The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference". I'm having it printed and framed.

4. I loved this post by Cathy Zielske about "Things I thought I would do as an adult that I actually don't do." Read this post by Mandi, as well.

5. I'm following along as Rachel makes her closet "leaner." I love her style. I read this post by Ronnie a few weeks ago, which made me think of some of the thought provoking points made in this book.

I hope you have a good weekend.
