february recap

Every month at the end of the month, I recap my monthly activities/goals and link to various personal blog posts. See all of 2014's monthly recaps here.

I love February. It's probably because one of my favorite holidays is in February. Aside from Valentine's Day, this month was eventful for other reasons. Lani won second place in her school's spelling bee. After being top 2, she was eligible to participate in our local newspaper's spelling bee. She didn't win, but how awesome to have participated. Both Lani and Evie won awards this month for academic success at school. We're very proud of them. Addy and Juli are so sweet. My Addy starts school soon, and we've been talking about it lately. She's excited. I'm sad, but feigning excitement. I'm going to miss her happy, chatty self. Juli learns something new every day. She started rolling this month. She has also been sitting up in her bouncer and leaning over to grab things. She's such a busybody. In other news, Jesse and I have been together 15 years this month. He and I started dating Feb. 13, 1999. Truly, time flies.
:)
This month I shared a few DIY projects/tutorials- some of them Valentine's Day inspired (I'm telling you it's one of my favorite holidays!)

This month I also made a few more sandwiches for my 52 sandwiches project:

February Goals This is a recap of my goals for February and how I did for the month:
★Complete a 4 week activity challenge
For the most part, I did really well. I got sick at the beginning of February and lost a few days, but that's life, right? I've been going to the gym twice a week and taking the Ripped class. Twice a week I go to Zumba (with weights). All classes are 1 hour long, so I feel happy with my progress. When I missed classes because of being sick, I dusted off some of my Jillian Michael's DVDs, and worked out using those. I worked out using her Shred it with Weights DVD and her Extreme Shed and Shred DVD. I love/hate Jillian. ;) I think I will do another activity challenge in March.

Start my family cookbook project
I started taking pictures of our family meals, so that's a start. I am looking forward to this project.

Go on a date with Jesse
We did go on a date on Feb. 13 to celebrate 15 years together and Valentine's Day. We hadn't gone out alone together since Juli was born. My sister Jasmine and my brother in law Oscar babysat our girls. Getting out of the house together is tricky because asking to watch one little one is work enough, but 4? ;)
It was so nice. We went to grab a burger and fries at a favorite place. I'm hoping we can make a habit of going out together at least once a month.

I'm ready to see what March has in store. :)

Hope you have a lovely weekend.
