The first time I tried a pastrami sandwich I was in my early teens, and my family and I went to the fair. There are a few foods which I remember having tried the first time, but I vividly remember the savory pastrami, the pungent mustard, and crunchy pickles.
For this sandwich, I prepared my sandwich with a few ounces of warm pastrami (from my grocer's deli), mustard, and pickles in a whole wheat sub bun.
That's it! I'm all for making a simple, tasty sandwich with a touch of nostalgia.
