I got lost in last week's activities, and neglected my blog. I love this little space, and enjoy coming back to it though. Thank you for following along. :)
I had a scare last week, and thought I was going into labor. Before we headed to the hospital to make sure I wasn't in labor, I packed a hospital bag, washed all of the baby's clothes, and Jesse got a car seat ready for her. Things that maybe would have taken days to complete took only a few hours. After spending hours in the hospital, they determined I wasn't in labor. At least we got several to-do's crossed off of our list!
Last week, I also emptied the old craft room completely (it wasn't easy). Jesse and I were able to move the playroom into the old craft room, as well (that wasn't easy either). Now we are in the middle of painting the nursery and getting it completely ready for our little one. It was a whirlwind of a week.
In other news, I got most of my August goals done, and I am ready to tackle September:
*This month I intend to enjoy the present moment. If you have/have had a newborn, you know they are beautiful, amazing tiny people. You also know that they are so much work! ha. I am going to try not to worry so much about the lack of sleep and hard work because the moments are fleeting. I am determined to enjoy the present moment this month with our little one.
*I also intend to finish the nursery
*I am hoping to catch up with Project Life
*I am very excited to start decorating for the fall. I enjoy decorating for this time of year. The oranges/yellows/browns of this season are my favorite. Is anybody else looking forward to pumpkin sights, scents, and tastes as much as I am? ;)
*I am also excited to start tracking points again. I actually enjoy it, and don't find it burdensome at all. I've missed it, in fact.
*I am searching for a good book. Any recommendations?
*I have really enjoyed my homemade granola this month, and am looking for another recipe. This was the first time I had ever made granola, and it was surprisingly easy. I'm hooked.
*Lani's birthday is this month. She will be 10. It's a big one! When I turned 10, I distinctly remember my dad telling me, "You're 2 digits now." ;) I don't want to neglect Lani's birthday. We won't be able to have a big party this time around with our little one taking up our time, but we can still plan something special.
*All that said, I intend to be flexible this month, as well. I can't get it all done, so I can't be too hard on myself. My to-do list will turn into a ta-da! list. Someone said that recently (can't remember who... was it you?), and it stuck with me.
