52 sandwiches #1: chicken and pear grilled cheese

I altered this recipe from the book Fruits &Veggies A to Z.  For this sandwich, I spread 1 teaspoon of country Dijon mustard on whole wheat bread.  I topped it with 1 slice of honey BBQ chicken, a 1/4 cored and thinly sliced red pear,  a slice of provolone cheese, and the other slice of wheat bread.

I liked this sandwich.  In retrospect, I would have spread less mustard.  The taste was overwhelming.  I like mustard, but I think the pear and cheese would have suited each other nicely had the mustard not overpowered each bite.

  2. I like grilled chicken pear and melty brie on grilled focaccia. This quaint little restaurant in IL had it and it was awesome. Yours sounds lovely too…will have to try it. I like trying different sandwiches with apple slices, pear slices etc…. Yummy!

    1. Oooh! Yum! Grilled focaccia! I wanted to use focaccia for my next sandwich, but I couldn't find it. I will really have to look around to see if I spot it.
