arts and crafts 9th birthday party

To celebrate Lani's 9th birthday, we hosted an arts and crafts themed party for her with a few of her friends.

We kept the finger foods simple so they could grab snacks as they crafted.  The spread included a variety of sandwich options, Sun chips, fresh fruit with dip, deviled eggs, and strawberry lemonade.Arts and Crafts 9th birthday party
I covered my table with butcher paper so the girls could get their craft on.  ;)

I put together several crafting kits for them.

They made pencil boxes from recycled, cereal boxes (look here to make your own); treasure catcher necklaces (look here for Nikki's tutorial); floral hair clips, and paper bag albums (tutorial here).

For the paper bag albums, we printed pictures of the girls throughout the party, printed them, and had the girls paste them in their books.  These were the embellishments for their books: Arts and Crafts 9th birthday party  Arts and Crafts 9th birthday party  Arts and Crafts 9th birthday party  Arts and Crafts 9th birthday party Arts and Crafts 9th birthday party
It was a fun party. :)

    1. *sniffle* don't remind me! She was sitting here playing her flute, then pausing to read Diary of a Wimpy Kid- needing no direction from me to entertain her anymore, and it made me kinda nostalgic and sad! She is so big.
